Candidate forums
The League of Women Voters is sponsoring the following local candidate forums in October. Most forums will be broadcast live either on public access Channel 15 or government access Channel 16, and will be rebroadcast until Election Day. Broadcast information will be posted on www.vote.lwvmn.org.
• City of Birchwood: 7 p.m. Oct. 15 at Birchwood CIty Hall, 207 Birchwood Ave. Note this a change from the previous schedule.
City of Grant: 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 6 at the Chautauqua Fine Arts Center at Mahtomedi High School, 8000 75th St. N.
• City of Hugo: 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 7 at Hugo City Hall, 14669 Fitzgerald Ave. N.
• State representative Districts 53A and 53B: 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 14 at Chippewa Middle School, 5000 Hodgson Road, North Oaks.
• Ramsey County Commissioners Districts 1 and 7: 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 20 in Room 112 of the White Bear Lake District Center, 4855 Bloom Ave., White Bear Lake.
The Washington County Board and the Minnesota Inter-County Association (MICA) are hosting a state legislative candidate forum from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8, in the County Board Room at the Washington County Government Center, 14949 62nd Street North in Stillwater. Candidates in districts 52A, 55B, 56A, 56B and 57A will participate.
